NOAH'S DAY RETURNS (Part 1 of 4)

The following study has been revised since its original composition, and has been integrated into our new book, titled Nether Nuggets. Though there are a few slight variations in this edition, it is almost verbatim to the chapter titled Noah's Day Returns in that book. The center feature of the days of Noah is the Ark and the story relative to it. However, there is much to be understood about these days of which the Bible only gives us a bare outline. We will start with the Ark, and work our way through these days of Noah.

The Ark was waterproofed by a coating of pitch, both inside and out. The Hebrew word for pitch here means "to cover", or in the noun form it means "covering", and can also mean atonement. Thus we see the symbolism of the atoning blood which is to cover our sin and provide for our salvation from the storms ahead for us. This coating of pitch would also keep the Ark from leaking when the storms were in the midst of their fury. Likewise it is the power of the blood of Christ that enables us to endure the storms of our life without falling prey to the devastation (leakage) due to their fury. There was only one door to the Ark. This door would be closed by the hand of God when the chosen ones had boarded (Genesis 7:16). Just as there is only one means of salvation (i.e. through Yeshua), there was only one door to salvation from the flood which would destroy the earth.

As Noah built, he preached (II Peter 2:5). I believe he preached repentance to all who would listen. They probably shook their heads and laughed at "this foolish man" and his "eccentric ideas". How insane they must have thought him to be. Today we might call them "scoffers". We also might recognize this word in relation to our time and to II Peter 3:3:

There is never any indication that anyone believed Noah, except maybe those of his own household who went with him onto the Ark, but apparently Noah was nonetheless faithful to preach. (Maybe we should be doing likewise.) Meanwhile, God endured long-suffering as the "disobedience" of the day continued (I Peter 2:20). In II Timothy 3:13 we will see that evil will "wax worse and worse" in our day as well while God again endures with long-suffering until the number of chosen is fulfilled and preparations are completed.

When the Ark was ready, there was a space of seven days in which to gather the animals and his family aboard the Ark before the rains would begin (Genesis 7:4). At the completion of this seven days, the period of grace was ended, and God's judgment upon mankind would begin. Noah was 600 years old when the flood began on the seventeenth day of the second month. According to some calculations, the flood may have began 1,655 years after the creation of man.

But what prompted God to judge the world by flood? We see that He was distressed by the evil in the world. "And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth", and that "every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually" (Genesis 6:5). Let's compare this reference of Noah's day to our own. In the last few years, we have heard of gang members killing a little girl when the child's family turned down the "wrong" street; a teenage couple beating to death the child the girl bore out of wedlock; another teenage mother delivering a baby at the her high school prom and flushing it down the toilet; a 16 year old boy killing his mother and shooting nine students at his school; another male youth shooting fellow students while they were in prayer at his school; a 15 year old girl attacking her pregnant teacher with a hammer, causing skull fractures; an eight-year old boy bringing a gun to school and threatening a student who teased him; four teenage males drugging and repeatedly raping an 11 year old girl while smoking heroin; two boys (one seven and the other eight) raping and killing an 11 year old girl; a female teacher who is a witch casting a charm on a 15 year old male student, and seducing him to conceive her child; four teens who claimed to be vampires causing mayhem in a local church, and another vampire cult killing a member's mother. In Satanic circles we find that the Black mass is celebrated with the use of toads, turnips, and a mixture of blood, urine and feces in place of the bread and wine of our holy sacrament. Babies, young virgins, an assortment of humans (male and female, young and old), and various animals are abused by sexual perversions, mutilated and slain on the altars by these demented beings for the glory of Satan and the power such sacrifices are supposed to bring to them.

Where did we go wrong? To quote James Dobson in his wonderful article called They Only Know What You Teach 'Em, we read: " ... Judges, with the acquiescence of our legislators, have made it illegal for our schools to post the Ten Commandments. It is becoming increasingly difficult -- and dangerous -- for students to pray together on school campuses; meanwhile, it's easier for a man or woman to obtain a divorce than to escape from an automobile lease agreement. The President of the United States embraces the radical homosexual movement which opposes the legal basis of marriage as a lifelong commitment between one man and one woman. States are prohibited from protecting innocent children, in the process of being born, from those who would puncture their skulls and suck out their brains. Those who oppose this infanticide are called 'extremists' by our political leaders. Federal authorities decline to prosecute hard-core pornographers. The government spends billions to promote 'safe sex' ideology in our schools, and officials hand out condoms and pills to kids who assume they're expected to use them. Laws protecting children from indecent material on the Internet are struck down by justices to protect the right of adults to market pornography. Video poker machines dot the landscape of a nation that was built on the principles of thrift and deferred gratification. The 'entertainment' industry glorifies violence and sexual exploitations, while pop music pays tribute to the killing of police and the raping of women. And the list goes on. How much carnage must we witness at our feet before we will raise our eyes to Heaven?" Again we are reminded of II Timothy 3:13:

Now was every man of Noah's day evil? No. Noah was not, nor apparently were his wife, his sons, and their wives. Yet it is obvious that a similar state of debauchery was prevalent. In the flood of Noah's day, the Bible only indicates that the eight members of his family were spared. We are assured by Revelation 7:4 & 14:1 that the number in our day who will find salvation from the storms to come upon Earth will be greater. So, again, obviously, not all men have to be seen as evil by God in order for the Tribulation Period to begin. The evil of our day has become SO evil, that I cannot fathom how God continues to endure in long-suffering and patience even until this day.

Luke 17:26-30 reads:

Then per Matthew 24:37 we read:

In the Luke passage, Yeshua correlates the days of Noah with the days of Lot. We should note that in each instance sexual perversion was a notable sign of the times. The judgment of the flood and the judgment of Sodom were linked in this respect. In the days of Noah, this bizarre and awful behavior brought about such wickedness on Earth that it prompted a most catastrophic judgment of God. In Luke's reference to the days of the flood, mention is made of marriage as though there is a negative connotation associated with it. That might seem strange to us now, but it would probably be very understandable to those who lived in Noah's day, as the sons of God then "took them wives of all which they chose" (Genesis 6:2), and this resulted in gross distortions and immorality followed by divine judgment. These sons of God began to notice the beauty of the daughters of men, and they intermarried, producing a monstrous race of genetic mutants. Verse 4 of this passage refers to these notorious offspring as "giants", who were (per verse 5) apparently responsible for tremendous wickedness upon Earth. The word "giants" used here is the English translation for the word Nephilim, which means the "fallen ones", believed to refer to the sons of God who fathered them.

Now much controversy exists over exactly who these sons of God were. Some say they were sons of the lineage of Seth, and others say they were fallen angels. Let's look first at the "Line of Seth" theory. It would have us believe that these were merely the sons of the blessed line of Seth who intermarried with the cursed line of Cain. First we must question why it is that the daughters of Seth might not intermarry with the sons of Cain as well. It seemed to be only a one-way proposition here! Then, from an intellectual standpoint, biology tells us that the offspring of these conceptions could hardly have been totally human, because of their marked genetic mutations! Now, unless Cain's lineage was substantially different physically than Seth's (which is a possibility if it had been corrupted as we suspect) intermarriages between Seth's lineage and Cain's might produce some "not so nice" bratty offspring who would grow up to be thorns in the side. However, no mention of the line of Cain indicates that any of his daughters were of abnormal physical appearance or in any manner could produce "giant" offspring such as we find in Genesis. Maintaining the possibility that such corruption of the seed of Cain had occurred, we will leave this open as a SECOND possible valid interpretation here. However, it seems that the primary intended understanding here was the mixing of fallen angelic seed with that of the mortal human seed.

Such monstrous offspring indicates a supernatural genetic inheritance. From a spiritual standpoint, neither does the Biblical text support the Line of Seth theory. The only other use of the Hebrew phrase for Sons of God (bene elohim) is in the Book of Job. It occurs three times there (1:6, 2:1, & 38:7), and the context indicates that all three are references to angels. Never do we find the use of "sons of God" in reference to saintly people until we get to the New Testament, where it is used to indicate those who are born again, which could not occur until such New Testament days (John 1:12 & Romans 8:14). Maybe we also have reason to question the esteem in which the line of Seth is held. Those in his lineage who followed the ways of Enosh were of the first to defy God.

We might also want to note the historically approved source titled Works of Josephus, which amplifies our Biblical account of Genesis 6. In it we find the following: "Now this posterity of Seth continued to esteem God as the Lord of the universe, and to have an entire regard to virtue, for seven generations; but in process of time they were perverted, and forsook the practices of their forefathers, and did neither pay those honors to God which were appointed them, nor had they concern to do justice towards men. But for what degree of zeal they had formerly shown for virtue, they now showed by their actions a double degree of wickedness; whereby they made God to be their enemy, for many angels of God accompanied with women, and begat sons that proved unjust, and despisers of all that was good, on account of the confidence they had in their own strength; for the tradition is, that these men did what resembled the acts of those whom the Grecians call giants. But Noah was very uneasy at what they did; and, being displeased at their conduct, persuaded them to change their dispositions and their acts for the better; -- but seeing that they did not yield to him, but were slaves to their wicked pleasures, he was afraid they would kill him, together with his wife and children, and those they had married; so he departed out of that land. Now God loved this man for his righteousness; yet he not only condemned those other men for their wickedness, but determined to destroy the whole race of mankind, and to make another race that should be pure from wickedness; and cutting short their lives, and making their years not so many as they formerly lived, but one hundred and twenty only, he turned the dry land into sea."

There is no doubt here that Josephus viewed these sons of God as angels. In fact, the only direct creation of God which might have been called His sons in the Old Testament would have been exclusively Adam (per Luke 3:38) and the angels. Matthew 22:30 indicates that the angels (presumably the obedient heavenly angels who have never fallen) DO not marry, though this does not indicate that angels CAN not do so. We must not forget that these were fallen angels who were in rebellion to God. Obedience was not an issue here, but only the knowledge of how to accomplish that which they wanted. As a result of this interbreeding, much of the genetic pool of humankind was corrupted. However there is one who apparently had a genealogy that remained spotlessly intact "perfect in his generations" (6:9). Noah was his name, and he walked with God.

All who would come after Adam would be sons of Adam, not sons of God. Whereas the Line of Seth theory does a great injustice to the literal interpretation of the Biblical text, it seems that the literal meaning of the Word of God is clear here; indicating that angels (always male) intermarried with females of the human race, and produced abominable offspring. The Greek translators of the Septuagint translated this phrase as "angels of God". Now this version was in use in the days of Yeshua, and He would almost certainly have been familiar with it. If He had a problem with this interpretation, it was never (to my knowledge) noted. The writer of The Book of Enoch, (an ancient apocryphal historical documentation of which was quoted in our Book of Jude, verse 14) not only uses this understanding, but clarifies and expands our understanding of this reference.

In both The Book of Enoch and the Genesis Apocryphon these fallen angels were called "Watchers". The Book of Jubilee indicates that the date these Watchers came down to Earth was about 3543 B.C., and relates their arrival to the days of Jared (which means "come down"), being the fifth in line of Adam's descendants. The Biblical Book of Daniel refers also to the Watchers. The Book of Enoch places their number in the vicinity of 200. These Watchers were viewed by the people of that day as angels from the sky who had come to watch over them, bring justice to Earth, and to reveal to them the secrets of heaven. They apparently had no idea that they might be "fallen" angels. We then learn from these sources however, that they lusted after the women of Earth, and had relations with them, producing children.

The ancient document called Apocalypse of Baruch also indicates that the fallen angels cohabited with women, but adds a new dimension to the account, i.e. that the sinfulness of man caused the angels to lust, seducing them into relations with women. Indeed other literature has suggested this possibility as well. In The Testament of the Twelve Patriarchs, we find: "the women of Earth were the prime movers in alluring and enticing the angels." It is suggested that this may be why I Corinthians 11:10 says that a woman should have "power on her head because of the angels". This passage indicates that a woman's hair is her glory, and that our glory should be covered. The Days of Noah are back. Maybe we shouldn't try to limit this I Corinthians 11 passage to the days of old. God's Word transcends time, and God knew this passage would be a part of our Bible (guide to live by) today, and He never negated it! Could the women's hair have played a role in prompting the lust of the angels. The Ante-Nicene Fathers have said that the angels fell "into impure love of virgins, and were subjugated by the flesh ... were captivated by love of women ... transgressed, and begat children ... who are called giants." Again the word "captivated" allows the question to linger as to whether the women here may have been responsible for the seduction of the angels!

The Zadokite Document (considered to be associated with the Dead Sea Scrolls) says: "Because they walked in the stubbornness of their hearts, the Watchers of heaven fell, yea, they were caught thereby because they kept not the commandments of God. So too their sons whose bodies were as mountains. They also fell." We might want to note that the name of one of these Watchers was supposedly Azazel. (When the sins of the Hebrew people were transferred to a scapegoat for atonement of the nation each year, the goat was dedicated to Azazel.) This Watcher was said to have royally rebelled against God, and effected the wide distribution of heaven's secrets (things of God that the people were not to know).

Indeed they did teach the people. They taught them the use of charms and enchantments, the secrets of herbalism, cosmetics, destructive weapons, explosives, astrology, and magic. It seems that the offspring of these unions were found to have a rather ingrained knack for and knowledge of these arts, and excelled in the use of them. Then it is said that the Nephilim offspring became so demented that they began to "devour flesh and drink blood".

At this point it is reported that God gave Enoch a message for their fathers, the Watchers, " ... Wherefore have ye left high, holy and eternal heaven, and lain with women and defiled yourselves with the daughters of men, and taken wives unto yourselves and done like the children of earth and begotten giants as sons. And although ye were holy, spiritual living and eternal life, you have defiled yourselves with the blood of women, and have begotten children with the blood of flesh, have lusted after flesh and blood as those who do die and perish .... Ye have no peace." Thus, they fell and likewise their sons after them.

Numerous interpreters of ancient Jewish writings and our Christian forefathers agreed that these intermarriages were between angels and humans. We are understandably reluctant to accept this view because it does not fit comfortably within the boundaries that we want to acknowledge regarding the interaction of our physical world and the more mystical spiritual world which surrounds and penetrates it. Many serious theologians and Bible students today however, have had to bow to this interpretation. It is imperative that we too understand it, as there is much to be learned regarding the times in which we live that is indelibly linked to this vital piece of knowledge. Throughout God's Word we are warned not to fall under deceit, and chapter 6 of Ephesians tells us how to avoid such deceit. We are warned there to put on (in a continual state) God's full suit of armor because we wrestle ... "against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places" (6:12). We see in II Corinthians 2:11 that if we allow ourselves to be ignorant of Satan's devices, he can gain advantage over us. So let's become keenly aware of his strategy as we continue to look at the Nephilim.

The next question we need to tackle might be how it would be physically possible for such a union to occur. Though the incubus/succubus precept may be a factor here as well, it appears that most of the interaction with these women was fallen angels who somehow changed their bodies (left their first estate per Jude 1:6), and became mortal beings. Jude 1:7 speaks of "strange flesh". Thus we see that there were two forms of flesh (from the two different seeds), and the lineages were mixed when the seeds were sown from one flesh into the other, making the two one flesh, bringing about the genetic mutants of the day. But in order for them to become mortal beings, the angels must have blood and DNA with which to produce offspring. Now, nowhere in the Bible does it say angels have blood, and usually they are thought not to have it. Thus their bodies would have to take on blood in order for this union to occur.

William Schnoebelen was at one time heavily involved in the occult, which included drinking of blood, and doing whatever was necessary to fulfill his role as high priest in the upper echelons of Satanism. However, through some miraculous events in his life, he was led out of it, and began to be a most profound witness for God. Due to his background, he has also become an awesome resource of the strategies and knowledge of Satan regarding the delusion that is to be unleashed upon mankind (II Thessalonians 2:11). In his book Space Invaders, he reminds us that God universally forbade the drinking (eating) of blood (Deuteronomy 12:23) because "the blood is the life". He then proposes a rather interesting scenario regarding the grape. He postulates that Adam didn't have blood until he ate the forbidden fruit, which was the grape. I concur. We know the divine correlation between blood and the grape. Not only does wine represent the blood of Christ, but when the evil men (grapes) of Earth are thrown into the wine press of God's wrath in Revelation 14:18-20, the resulting flow is that of blood. I believe the eating of the grape in disobedience of God's mandate created a flow of blood in their bodies which caused them to become mortal (whereby they would die physically - as God had told them they would if they ate of it). It was only after they ate of this fruit that God set up Cherubim to guard the Tree of Life so they could no longer eat of it in their mortal bodies. (Note that we will be able to eat of it when we no longer have ours [Revelation 2:7]).

There is a definite link between the partaking of the juice of the grape known to us today and the health of the heart, whereby the blood is circulated, and the disciples were told to drink a bit of wine for their health. Now that we have blood, the grape helps helps the heart (which circulates this blood) to prosper. Now if such is the case, might not the fallen angels have known these things (they knew many of heaven's secrets) and have rebelled in like manner, choosing to take blood into their bodies by the same means? Another potential is by drinking the blood directly, which is commonly practiced in Satanic circles. At such time these angels they would become flesh AND BLOOD mortal beings, and would have to die the death of man, but they would be able to procreate with human kind. Could Psalm 82 be about these celestial beings who fell to such a degree that they would "die like men" in verse 7? It could hardly be talking about men, because it says "like" men!

We also find an interesting reference in Hebrews 2:14, which states: "14) Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil." We partake of the blood through our individual father's blood. It is for that reason we are born with a sin nature. However, Yeshua did not inherit earthly blood, as He did not have an earthly father. The Holy Spirit which conceived Him through a miracle of God had no blood, so might He have had to "partake" (as the verse is worded) of the fruit of the grape (like as the first Adam, so the second) in order to become mortal and BE ABLE to die that He might in turn conquer death? In the case of Yeshua, however, it would not be sin; but rather, it would be obedience in order to achieve the divine purpose for which He came.

Next we need to differentiate between fallen angels and demons. Many of us have been taught that they are one and the same, but they cannot be. Angels retain a body of sorts when they fall, whereas demons have none. Though they are never referred to as demons in the authorized English version of the Bible, the Greek word for "unclean spirit" as used in many passages is "daimon" in the Greek, whereby we have derived the commonly known term of demon. "Daimon" means "inferior deity". The Greek term for angel is "angelos", which means a "messenger". They are not interchangeable.

Angel possession or fallen angel possession are unheard of, yet demon possession is a reality both in Biblical days and in the present era. Fallen angels have no need to possess a body, as they have their own, whereas demons crave the enclosure of bodily form, whether it be human or animal. It is said that the power of the fallen angels puts them high above the level of demons, as much as we are above the insects. Cherubim have been portrayed as chubby little babies by our society, but the Bible paints a different picture of these creatures, i.e. one of intensely impressive creatures of immense intelligence, and power capable of killing entire armies at a moment's notice. I suggest we view them God's way. They were created to serve God. The only Biblical references of human conversations with Angels, are when the Angels were sent to man with a message by God, and they are usually prefaced by the fear these awesome figures induced in the recipient of the message. These purebred angels of God are not gentle little beings! I can find ABSOLUTELY NO Biblical precedent to initiate a conversation with an angel, i.e. calling to one or requesting his aid or advice. This is done in the occult, but the angels who respond are not of the pure seed. We do not want to fall prey to the same interaction. Philippians 4:6 says:

Note that it does NOT say: "unto your ANGELS". It says: "unto GOD". We are to go straight to the top and make our requests known to the Father. If HE then chooses to dispatch His angels or put our guardian angel on the case, HE will do so. It is not for us to instruct or even make requests to any angel. That is God's job. Ours is merely to benefit from what He has them accomplish in our lives. It appears that God's pure angels are obliged to do ONLY HIS WILL. Because a request from man might actually run COUNTER TO GOD'S WILL, I don't believe an undefiled angel of God would not be ABLE to respond to a request from man. To do so would put him in jeopardy of violating his divine decree with God. He could only respond to instructions which come directly from God, whereby he could be certain that the request WAS GOD'S WILL. Therefore, please beware! I truly believe that any angel who responds to a request from man can must be of the fallen variety!!! Beware of the New Age teachings that we are to reach out and commune with our angels! I have yet to find any Biblical evidence or instructions to substantiate this interaction. Be forewarned that by doing so, you may be playing with fire! The dangerous counterfeit version does a good job of posing as the pure variety!

Even the far weaker demonic critters mentioned earlier are capable of tremendous feats. We can see this by noting the actions of those they possess. In order to be categorized as "possessed" it is commonly noted that there are three distinct characteristics, i.e. speaking in an unknown language, indicating knowledge of secret facts previously unknown to the victim, and exhibiting abnormal strength and miraculous bodily manipulation and/or preservation. They break glass with their hands and dance on it without injury to the feet. They walk without harm through acid which normally burns flesh to the bone. They strike down secured doors with bare hands as easily as though they were hitting the doors with a truck. These are just some examples of the traits of demonic possession.

Now despite the power and intellect of the fallen angels, they are no match for our almighty God. It seems He had had enough. Jude 1:6-7 and II Peter 2:4-6 explains the divine consequences these angels paid for their indiscreet activities. Jude 1:6 says that these angels "kept not their first estate" (angelic form they had been given) "but left their own habitation" (place of dwelling for the spirit per the Greek). The Erros tense here indicates that their change to mortal bodies was irreversible.

Basically, it seems that they gave up their supernatural bodies in exchange for a mortal body akin to our human ones. We long for the day when we can have an immortal body like that of the angels (Matthew 22:30 & II Corinthians 5:2), yet they tossed them aside, and took on mortal bodies. Jude, verse seven explains that this was done simply to give themselves "over to fornication and going after strange flesh". Both the Jude and the II Peter passages indicate a link to Sodom and Gomorrah which shows the manner in which God esteems these unholy alliances between angel and man. It is even a possibility that homosexual acts were a part of this exchange, as the men of Sodom certainly seemed anxious to have relations with the angels who visited Lot. Perhaps they knew they were angels rather than men. At any rate, the sexual perversion that brought an end to Sodom and Gomorrah is likened here to the sexual perversion that brought the judgment of the flood to mankind. Both of these passages then relate that these angels were confined in chains in darkness until judgment. The phrase "down to hell" in II Peter 2:24 is a place unlike all the other references of hell we find in our Bible. It alone is derived from the Greek word Tartaros. It is said to be far below Hades. Thus we see that some of the angels who fell are still free to roam Earth as do the demons, but that those who fell a second time are found here in Tartaros. They are chained here to keep them from continuing to form Nephilim, and as an example to the other angels.

The Secrets of Enoch in The Forgotten Books of Eden tells of the place where these angels are kept. It is said here to be a place of "darkness, greater than earthly darkness". In the vision, related here, Enoch was supposedly transported to this place, and we read: "and there I saw prisoners hanging ... awaiting the great and boundless judgment, and these angels were dark looking, more than earthly darkness, and incessantly making weeping through all hours. And I said to the men who were with me: 'Wherefore are these incessantly tortured?' they answered me: 'These ... obeyed not God's commands, but took counsel with their own will, and turned away with their prince .... These are the Grigori, who with their prince Satanail (Satan) rejected the Lord of light, and ... went down on the earth from the Lord's throne, to the place Ermon, and broke through their vows on the shoulder of the hill Ermon and saw the daughters of men how good they are, and took to themselves wives, and befouled the earth with their deeds, who in all times of their age made lawlessness and mixing, and giants are born and marvelous big men and great enmity. And therefore God judged them with great judgment, and they weep for their brethren and they will be punished on the Lord's great day. The Lord has condemned them to be under earth till heaven and earth shall end for ever.'"

(Note -- Henceforth, in order to simplify our terminology, fallen angels who remain undefiled by human flesh will be termed Watchers, and those who have become so defiled will be termed Grigori in this work, with the exception of quotations and the use of the category of angels overall). Portions of these groups might be those whom Yeshua visited after His death on the cross. I Peter 3:19 indicates that He preached to them. The Greek word for "preach" here is "kerusso", and means to herald or proclaim, with no reference as to the "gospel message", etc. Might He not have gone there to proclaim that they had just been defeated and did indeed have judgment coming, making a "show of them openly, triumphing over them ..." (Colossians 2:15)?

So we see the combining of the two seed lines and the resulting Nephilim. However, what would happen when these Nephilim offspring as well as the Grigori themselves met the end of their now mortal lives?

Isaiah 26:14 reads:

The word "dead" here is derived from the same Hebrew word as Rephaim (probably a form of Nephilim). Thus it is often translated as: "They are DEAD, they shall not live; they are REPHAIM, they shall not rise: ...." They will not be resurrected at the same time or in the same manner as those are joined to the body of Christ. It appears that they are prejudged and destined to be condemned directly to the Lake of Fire. Could their spirits be the unclean spirits referred to in our Bible (the ones we call demons)? Could the fact that the spirits of the Nephilim and Grigori have so enjoyed their bodies explain the reason that their spirits, (now demons) so urgently seek to find a human or animal to enter (Luke 11:24-26)? We find this topic in The Secrets of Enoch in The Forgotten Books of Eden. Within it we find a warning supposedly sent from God to Enoch for the Nephilim. We read: "The giants, who are produced from the spirits and flesh, shall be called evil spirits upon the earth .... Evil spirits have proceeded from their bodies; because they are born from men and from the holy Watchers is their beginning and primal origin .... And the spirits of the giants afflict, oppress, attack, do battle, and work destruction on the earth .... And these spirits shall rise up against the children of men and against the women, because they have proceeded from them ... thus they destroy until the day of the consummation, the great judgment in which the age shall be consummated over the Watchers and the godless, yea, shall be wholly consummated."

The offspring of Genesis 6 seem to have a lot in common with many of the legendary figures of mythology, called the Titans, who were said to be of part celestial and part terrestrial origin, having one parent of each realm. In some ancient Greek writings, "Nephilim" was translated as "gegenes" which means "earth born." This term was also used in reference to the Titans. It would not be used for humans, as they would be expected to be born on our Earth, but only in relation to beings of celestial origin, who were somehow born on Earth.

Genesis 6 even says they were "mighty men which were of old, men of renown". Some of the Grigori were considered to be gods, so these Nephilim were half human and half gods in the eyes of the people, with powers and knowledge on a parallel with their fathers, just as Hercules and Atlas were said to be offspring of divine/human relations. The gods and half gods of Greek mythology almost always had a few common character traits, i.e. tremendous strength, intellectual prowess, supernatural abilities, sexual promiscuity, violence, and intense cruelty. Many authors point to the striking parallels between the obvious meaning of Genesis 6 and the characteristics of mythological characters. In particular, the amorous stories of Zeus (the Roman Jupiter) points to a craving of the spirit beings for "strange" human flesh. He, as well as Poseidon (Neptune), Eros (Cupid), and Hermes (Mercury) were all constantly engaged in sex orgies and produced very strange offspring. Their violence was immense, and it is said that when he gained victories over his enemies, Zeus often sent the conquered foe to a place called Tartaros. Could it be that these mythological legends were not the product of an overimaginative mind, but rather a crude attempt to tell of actual events of the day? As time went by, there were almost certainly stretches of the truth here and there, as well as assorted embellishments, but could these stories have been based on a form of reality?

We might notice another little area of interest in our Genesis 6 passage. When speaking of the Nephilim, verse 4 says: "There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that ...." Now what was meant by "and also after that"? Weren't they all killed in the flood? Yes, and the offending angels were chained into Tartaros. So didn't that put a stop to the problem? Well, apparently it just slowed it down a bit. It appears that one group was destroyed at this time only to be replaced later by another group.

A mysterious race was found to exist again after the flood. The Rephaim of the days of the patriarchs are believed to be either another name for Nephilim, or a subclass of the same. They continue to appear in Biblical history into the days of David, and inhabited mainly Canaan. Our present day Syria and Jordan covers much of this area. The Bible also mentions other groups of giants at that time, i.e. the "Emim", "Zamzummim" or "Zuzim", the "Anakim", the "Horim", etc. It appears that there were several genetic lines of Nephilim in those days.

It should be understood that hell's greeting committee for the King of Babylon in Isaiah 14:9-11 was Rephaim (again, the Hebrew word for "dead" in this passage is the word from which Rephaim is derived). The question is even raised that the King himself might have been a fallen angel who took on a human body. The Rephaim themselves were referred to as "the chief ones of the earth" in this passage, and they asked him if he had also become weak as they, and like unto them (i.e. did he give up his immortal body for a weaker human one and have to face the death of this body as their own bodies had died?).

Bashan was known as the "land of the giants", and the king of the region was Og. About the only giant who is more renown to Bible scholars is Goliath. It is also interesting to note a peculiar physical feature about the giants of the day. II Samuel 21:20 says that Goliath had six toes on each foot, and six fingers on each hand. Spears of ten to twenty-five pounds each were their weapons, and the armor worn by Goliath weighed 196 pounds. He was nine feet tall. We must wonder if, however, some of the giants might not have been taller, as the beds of some were found to be thirteen feet long, skeletons have been found in excess of fifteen feet, and when the Hebrew spies checked out the land of Canaan they were terrified, saying that they seemed to be as mere grasshoppers in proportion to these giants. It was because they feared these giants more than they trusted God that all the Hebrew people over the age of 19 remained in the wilderness for the balance of their lives, with the exception of Joshua and Caleb.

When at last the Hebrew people were allowed to go into the land of Canaan, they were instructed in Deuteronomy 20:17 and elsewhere to kill every man, woman and child of certain tribes of people, to "utterly destroy them". It is only if we understand the genetic contamination caused by the Nephilim that we can understand God's harshness here, as it would otherwise be strictly opposed to His nature to allow such a thing, much less to insist upon it. However, as had become characteristic of Israel, they did not obey God, and Joshua 13:13 & 16:10 and Judges 1:28-34 may indicate that some of the Nephilim survived.

Let's take a brief look at one of the greatest masterpieces of all time, i.e. Gaza, the Great Pyramid. It is without a doubt the greatest of the Seven Wonders of the world. There are some extraordinary statistics related to this monument. Each side of the base is 365.2442 cubits long (precisely the number of days in our solar year including the extra day for our leap year every four years)! There is a perfect 10 to 9 ratio in the incline verses the height of the pyramid. (For each ten feet you would ascend along the incline of a wall, you would rise in height nine feet.) It is as tall as a 42 story building. If we multiply the height of the pyramid by 10 to the ninth power, we would get 91,840,000, the number of miles from our Earth to the sun. Furthermore, exactly one thousand million pyramids would cover this distance and reach the sun. It is composed of more than two million blocks of stone, with a total weight of the monument is 6 million tons. The ground beneath it, however, has never moved so much as a quarter of an inch since its construction thousands of years ago. In his extremely interesting book titled The Omega Conspiracy, I. D. E. Thomas tells us that this incredible amount of building materials would be sufficient to construct a wall six foot high from Los Angeles to New York. The blocks are each carefully cut, and polished, and are designed to fit exactly into place, with only a margin of 2/100 of an inch of space between them. (This most likely represents a laser technology which was unknown to mankind until this present century.) The 30th degree of latitude crosses the 30th degree of longitude at this exact point, and it is said to mark the exact center of the land of our Earth as we know it today. Often the construction of this pyramid is said to have predated the flood, but due to this last statistic, I would have to question that. Because the land masses changed shape during the flood, it is probable that this monument was built after the flood. In either case, there is a great likelihood that these complex calculations were made and the heavy construction of this astonishing work was carried out by super human technology and expertise.

Romans 8:38 speaks of angels, principalities, and powers, and Ephesians 6:12 shows us principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this world, and spiritual wickedness in high places. Satan is acknowledged as the prince of the power of the air in Ephesians 2:2. Now, let's take inventory. We have Satan, Lucifer, the Watchers (who had never left their immortal habitation), the Grigori (who had left their first habitation and assumed mortal bodies), their Nephilim offspring (in their mortal bodies), the demon spirits from the Grigori who had died, and the demon spirits from their Nephilim offspring who had died. They would all probably have fit into this picture painted by Romans and Ephesians of the evil empire we battled in days past, but how about these present days? Are we now just limited to Satan, the Watchers, and the demonic spirits of past Grigori and Nephilim, or could God have foreseen our day in a different light? Could it include a current realm of Grigori and Nephilim offspring? Could we be inundated by a current wave of Nephilim today which we have been too naive to acknowledge in our politically correct, "don't worry, be happy" society? Think on this for a moment. The only sin specifically mentioned in the days of Noah was the intercourse between angels and man, which produced Nephilim. "But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be" (Matthew 24:37), and this is our days! If there were Nephilim then, there are almost certainly Nephilim now.

The Bible often mentions the "host of heaven", and it has also mentioned flaming chariots. Elisha was provided with help by them in II Kings 6:17, and Elijah was transported to heaven by one in II Kings 2:11. Might they be a form of angelic transport by a means we are only beginning to understand? The Cherubim in Ezekiel chapter 10 had strange wheels associated with fire. These wheels went with them everywhere they went per verse 16. Now Satan was a Cherub, so he should know all about them! In our day and age, we hear of unidentified flying objects (UFO's) and their unusual occupants. Could this have anything to do with these "principalities and powers and spiritual wickedness in the high places"?

We should not scoff, lest we forget that Satan was deemed the prince of the power of the air in the very Word of God, and that Beelzebub is another name for him, which means "lord of those that fly"! II Corinthians 11:14 tells us that he can transform himself into an angel of light, so let us not underestimate his ability to fulfill the role of extraterrestrial beings.

Many of the scientists on the White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico would no doubt disclaim any belief in ufology. But words found there scribbled by an unknown hand may well be more realistic: "I saw a disk up in the air/A silver disk that wasn't there./Two more weren't there again today/Oh I wish they'd go away." There are about 700,000 UFO sightings reported each year. Surely there is something real happening!

Maybe not all of the reports of these sightings are even as recent as we think. Ancient Samarian records tell of gods whom they believed to be from the stars who fertilized their women. Their offspring had the same supernatural abilities exhibited by their fathers. These Samarians also believed that this was the way the first humans came into existence. It should also be noted that they became civilized virtually overnight. Other cultures maintain many similar accounts, i.e. the Incas, the South Sea Islanders, and even many in the Koreas, India, and Japan. (There is now a UFO museum in Japan.) In one instance it is said that men from the clouds built a wall of sixty ton blocks in one night. These men (of course) had relations with their women. Could the Watchers who came to Earth have come in flaming chariots, and claimed to be from the stars? Could we be experiencing a like phenomenon today? Could the study of ufology contribute to our understanding of the days of Noah? Let's take a look.

In our world we are consistently aware of three dimensions: length, width, and height. Multiplied together they give us a cubic measurement. A tangible object that would occupy this "space" or area would be said to have mass, and its weight would depend upon the size and density of the material in mathematical formula with our gravity. No gravity, no weight. Gravity is a law of nature in our three dimensional (3-D) world. Another is time.
